just a couple of questions.....

-- Hard to say. A bit yes.
what is the exact remaping process?
-- Plug into the ECU and dump a new program via laptop. Like reflashing a motherboard bios. Same principle.
Will this void my warrenty?
-- Yep. If they find it. and can prove the remap was the issue.
thank you
As above.....

the next question is does anyone know anything about doing this, have the software and the hardware to connect pc to ecu, and a cost?

Forget it.
Hardware and software to run it are seriously expensive. I have heard well into the thousands. I have tried to get a pricelist from the company who sells it. They refused to even talk to me unless I faxed them company incorporation documantation..!!!
Then you need to get the actual ecu firmware....

sounds like its cheaper to get an aftermarket ECU that comes with tuning software of its own.
As for doing it to a corsa SRI... you'll get a little bit more out of it but i don't think that gains will be that big, especially on a standard engine. but a good place to start none the less.

keep in mind that he has an '05 SRI. so there is a LOT of canbus in it. aftermarket ECU in one of these wouldn't be on my list of to do's. a corsa GSI B would be a better bet.
