Quick Squiz: Holden Astra Coupe
15sep05

I'm really looking forward to the turbo version of this car arriving.

Love the styling but the car just needs a little more go and the 147kW turbocharged engine should be more than up to the job.

the astra coupe looks excellent from the back... sloping rear roofline, different lights
like a different car

very interesting that the blinker stick in on the right side of the steering column.... wonder why??

is the 5 door H the same? or is it on the left like most other euro cars??

The indicator stalk is on the right - presumably to appease old people who get easily confused... :p

The advantage of the electrickery used in the Vectra/Astra stalks is that they can stick them pretty much anywhere at all because their operation is completely electric.

Nice idea, but I hate the way they function. The old fashioned mechanical ones are more intuitive - you don't need to 'learn' how they work...

The indicator stalk on the new Astra ****ted me - driving one in the UK - darn thing either turned off too soon, or stayed on when you didn't want it to - the "balance" point was hard to get - even after driving it for many days, every day for 2 weeks.
