Ok, in the market for some new tyres...

All 4 need replacing, in the next few weeks.... I don't want $200+/tyre tyres, but i want ones that grip well.... The better they grip, the better... Not worried about wear that much, these 4 only lasted 25,000k's...

I remember going to Jax tyres one day and he had "some new" japanese tyre there and reckon's they were excellent and only $115 or something a tyre (215/40/17 i think they are - stock turbo size) but i didn't need them then, so i can't remember now!
Anyone got any ideas or recommendations?

yeah...i need 2 change mine aswell.

went 2 a few places and they all quoted me an average of 160 plus for each tyre......on 215/40/17s. problem, most didn't match the load rating....especially the cheaper ones.

i may upsize my rubber aswell in the process. from 40s to 45s.

anywayz...i'll keep a look out for u if i c any good deals.
cheers

These are my picks I went with on my SRi - I would've gone for Michelin Precedas but I'm not made of $$$. (I went with Vreds at $155/tyre - great grip).

These are the tyres to replace the Michelin HX Pilots (Sportrac 205/50 R16 87V):

In the 17"s there's the 205/40 ZR 17 84 W XL Vreds.

These tyres aren't bad either:

I changed all 4 tyres recently to Firestone Firehawk TZ100 205/60R15 on stock CD rims. Very happy with them. Astra has been lowered 40 mm and the larger aspect tyres fill the guards nicely and retain a reasonably smooth ride (which the lowering had taken away).
I just have to watch the rolling radius increase . . . bumps the speedo out a little!
