I was looking around the web for some hot pics of the new Coupe and came across this article

http://images.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_reports/images/opel-astra-gtc-1.JPG&imgrefurl=http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_reports/opel-astra-gtc.htm&h=231&w=300&sz=17&tbnid=_fehKHS_nVEJ:&tbnh=85&tbnw=111&hl=en&start=2&prev=/images%3Fq%3DOpel%2BAstra%2BTurbo%26svnum%3D10%26h l%3Den%26lr%3D

It states that "The engine is ignited via a push button - no key twisting needed"

Is this true for the version we get here?

The system Lexus is using is pretty cool.

If you have the keys in you pocket or breifcase what ever the case maybe, you just put you fingers inside the door handle and the car unlocks (drivers door = drivers door, any other door = all doors). And for safety, only the door handle closest to the key itself will allow the car to unlock (eg touching the drivers door handle wont unlock the car if the key is closest to the rear lefthand door).

To start the car, same deal, have the keys where ever you like and just put you foot on the brake and hit the start button.

To lock the car, simple press a little tiny button on the door handle (again, the door handle that is closest to the key)

Is this on the new GS?

I guess you wouldn't really even need a 'key' with that system, it could just be a card in your wallet.

I like the system on the CL55 McLaren...(or is that CL65 - i cant remember)

lift a flap on the gear shift and push a red button underneath...hehe
