surprised they are calling it the coupe, as it's the hatch.
this has been on the website for months.
got me excited for a minute.

the drive article came out today.

i saw a 3 door astra in the showrooms today but didn't think of it as a astra coupe until i read the article.

drive article says it has different suspension for a sportier drive compared to the 3 door. thats good.

a test drive will tell.

YEah most of us on the forum already know about the above, there was also posts on prices and such... And yes the tigra has been priced.
The article is new though.

Turbo "Coupe" should be here early 2006. 147 kw, 5 speed only. CDX equivalent trim level. Around $37,000 expected price.
Convertible here late 2006/early 2007 (funny, I don't think it's even finished being developed yet!).
Zafira no longer made in Thailand, back to German production lines which makes it uneconomical for Holden, therefore they are dropping it. To be replaced with . . . a Daewoo! (Holden reckon the void will be filled with the Astra wagon).

I'll search for the articles and try to re-post.

The Turbo is a 6 speed, and will be $35k, according to a mate who sells Holdens.

Sounds Like Fun. Too bad i don't earn enough to afford one otherwise i'd buy one.

The wheel and tyre combination on the 3 door in the drive.com article really dont do the car any favours.

Turbo looks nice, although its a shame we dont get a body kit as such like we did with the TS model, just stick on bits if you catch my drift.

Although the new Golf GTI is looking better and better im afraid

about the new old issue - i didn't know that the holden site had the info months ago, apologies for those offended!

My thoughts are: a very solid car... The sloping roof does wonders to the astra image... rear window size is the only coupe like thing of the astra.. engine not powerful but not underdone... dont like the 16" wheels... thumbs up for the restyled rear with darker, different taillamps and rear lip spoiler. not a bad car :)

hmmm......it still doesn't grab my attention much. At this stage I'm going with the Golf sportline or something.

Maybe if we get a naturally aspirated SRi (new 1.8L or something) i'll start looking at the astra again

my thought on the 1st and 3rd pics are it looks like a compact 4wd... could just be the photo tho.. i think it looks a lot bigger in the pic than real life

Isn't that a pic of the BASE model CD hatch with 15 inch alloys....

A sportline Golf will cost close to $35K onroad. That's roughly $7000 more than the CDX Astra 3 door.

Astra H T will be 35 not on-road so the choice is yours.

But.... the SPortline golf has the normally aspirated 2L engine. No turbo.

I try to love the new astra, but I just can't!

The new "coupe" looks too stretched in the back...

Give me an Astra TS Coupe anyday though! Now thats a hot car that holden SHOULD have imported into Australia!

saw the astra wagon today - somebody's already bought one. on the road, it looks larger than a zafira but with much improved looks.

haven't seen the tigra yet (apart from the melbourne autoshow)
