That's decent. I registered my details with Holden a couple of months back for the wagon so maybe they'll let me know when they're in the dealers so I can take a good look.

AH ASTRA CD 3DR HATCH OR 5DR WAGON

1.8 Manual $23490

How is that possible when the current 5 CD door is $21,990 ?
Does the price youve quoted include OnRoads ?

It's an almost completely different body style. More difficult to make and lower volume = higher price...

yeah that's not too bad actually...

CJB

Is that the drive away price... or do you have to add all that onto it?

180HOA
15th July 2005, 03:32 PM
on-roads would be extra...

CJB
15th July 2005, 03:45 PM
Of course! I wish they would just add it all into the ONE FINAL PRICE!

But still, it's a good price for them both!

Prices are exactly the same between the 5 and 3 door here in the UK

Aye Black AH change the topic to include these cars:

Tigra - 34,990
3 door CDX - 25,990
5 door Wagon CDX- 25,990

New 1.4 Barina price drop - 500

There's always going to be some sort of pent-up-demand/novelty-value in a new body shape, hence the price premium on the 3dr.

When the novelty wears away, (within 6 months) whats a bet theres a price drop on the 3dr, to bring its price more closely into line with the 4dr.

It happened with the Astra Classic in general didn't it? Not too long ago they were $23K plus on roads, then they went to $21K, then to $19K, then to $18K - then now I see the final sell out prices are $17,490 - not much more than a Barina and in fact, the same price for a 5 door auto Barina really.

"on road" price is different for each state due to the cost of transporting to different states being different and the cost of rego/stamp duty is different state to state too.....

LMAO

Can't you read?

The thing says 3 DOOR AND WAGON

The prices are the same

And the reason the 3dr is more expensive than the equivilant 5 door is that Holden is marketing it as a sporty sort of model and you get more features for your money

Stop being so cynical :P

The reason the 3 door CD is more expensive is that it comes standard with the cruise control/alloys wheels that are optional on the CD hatch

The CDX hatch gets leather trim which would justify the $1000 higher price over the sedan.

All very easy to explain and all described on the fricken HOLDEN site :P

Actually, the freight costs are 'equalised', meaning the freight charged is the same on all vehicles, whether they are sold in Melbourne, Broome, or Cairns.

$35K for the Tigra - I am sorry, but that seems a bit extreme.

What's it got?

The Tigra is basically a Peugeot 206 CC by Opel, the 206 starts around the same price but with a gutless engine. Add the fact that there's plenty of room for improvement in the 206, and the Tigra's price is probably on the ball.

Heres the details for those that want them:

as for the Tigra, even $35k will make it one of the cheapest cabrios you can buy new, definatly the cheapest metal-roof cabrio
