assist with the cooling of the brake rotors, they redirect the path of air. theoretically you could make your own but wouldn't be as neat... in my opinion not necessary unless your doing track work.

by the way, nice car, nice wheels especially!

I have been searching for months for an upgrade kit for the brakes. I noticed that you have 4 stud (therefore no ABS) wheels and you said that your old ones were 256mm system.

I have found a few upgrade kits but there for the 5 stud astras with ABS. (264mm system)

My cars the same as your, where did you get the upgrade kit fom? are you still using the original calipers?

on the disc's i had to use a 5 stud one drilled to 4 stud to see if it worked and they did fine
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v696/dannysport18/P6230168.jpg
thats what the disc looked like i have since had a 308mm disc made my a brake company for my car in 4 stud
parts i have used came off a turbo car
i had to use calipers, calipers carriers, hub carriers, from a astra turbo you can use hub carriers and calipers from any 5 stud astra g but get the calipers carriers for the turbo car as they are bigger for the 308mm disc's if you get what i am saying

argh I see! Yes, I refuse to let people in my car if they have just walked in off grass or dirt. A bit extreme I know.

But even so, you should be proud - it's a great looking car now!!! 8)
