Just wondering if anyone has had the 60,000km service on their SRi 2.2 yet. Mine went in today for the major service and was told that the 2.2 has a timing chain that does not need to be serviced. It is a sealed unit, and Holden do not need to touch it.

What I want to know is, is the timing chain theoretically meant to last the life of the car, or is it a part that eventaully gets replaced?

I just feel a bit iffy that nothing is getting replace in this service.

Now here is a first... someone complaining because they DON'T need to replace something.

The 2.2L has a timing chain.... it doesn't need to be replaced at 60K Km
