Long shot I know, but has anyone strapped a set of Saris Bones to their cars. The riders here will know them, but for those who dont, heres an image.

Basically, they strap to your car via gravity, and straps. Quite a clever invention actually, and by far the best product on the market for carrying bikes. Imagine the two arms facing away are pushed against the hatch and rear window and straps secure the top, side & bottom. Bikes go in the loops in the foreground

Anyway, I used these plenty on my old Barina, but the (Barina) SRi has the wing over the back window. The top straps must come down over this to the rack, putting quite a bit of pressure on said wing. Its either going to hold, or snap.

So I'm chancing it for the 1st time on the weekend. If anyone has tried this before (Astra or Barina really), I'd love to hear of it.

:) BRent

havent tried it sorry, but i always say, i you think it might snap, it's prolly not worth trying unless your prepared to go wingless or buy a new one..

Good news for anyone with a bike (and a Barina!). It all worked well, the wing held up no probs.

Bones cost around $400 for a 3 carrier, $300 for a 2 carrier. Expensive, but better than having roof racks or a tow-bar on the car.

Whats an "Opel Performance Corsa-c limited edition? :D :?:
