Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows if they change the oil for the 1500km service inspection. I would've thought they at least changed the engine oil after the run in period but apparently not.....i know of many japanese manufacturers replace the oil after the run in period but the service book says otherwise for the astra?!?!.
Any ideas as to why they don't or do they and im mistaken?!

Thanks

They don't.......
They don't have run in oil, because the engines are already run in from factory, you just have to make them "wear" to your driving style as such... other than that, nothing!
You'll probably notice after 1500k's the oil is still perfect!

Change it yourself. It's not a hard job.

Have a look in your log book, it specifies the actions performed on the tear out tabs in the service record section.

Yeah as nutter said, modern day cars dont need any changes at all, the first (complimentry) service is a check up only, its the same as the pre delivery service.

Years ago they used to even tighten down the heads at first service but those days are gone.
