Hi All
I'm new hear so Hi from me.
I'm thinking about getting another Astra, had 2 previously a 2003 and 2010ish I think it was. Great little cars.

If I can't get hold or afford of a current shape Holden wagon I might go for the previous Opel Astra wagon. My question is;
The Holden Astra 1.4T runs on normal unleaded. The Opel needs Premium.
Can the Opel Astra be tweeked to run on Normal unleaded? Is it done by a Computer update or similar?
Unleaded is just way over priced here in Tasmania.
Thanks
Jiro

Hi mate and welcome. With normal unleaded, do you mean 91 ? Yeah your car will run on 91 or on e10 ethanol blend. I'd go for 95 minimum anyways with (slightly) better mileage and (slightly) better performance.

Thanks Dutchy
Yes I meant 91 octane.
So you mean the 2012/2015 Opel (not Holden) 1.4t 1.6t Astra can run on 91 ?
Why do they say premium?
Cheers

You can run the car on 91, no real issues, it'll start and drive, my wife doesn't get anything else than 91 and at time I alternate with 91 and 95 in her car. It'll also handle E10 without any issues, that's octane rating 94, but personally I am not that keen on E10. Over in Europe it's very much the norm though. For that little bit more I'd just get the 95 octane mate.
