does anyone know if automatic trans fluid is used as power steering fluid ?
or should there be a seperate fluid for power steering ??

well the guy at holden gave me a bottol of GM made auto trans fluid, and said thats the same stuff thats in the power steering fluid ??

Call up the relevant company to make sure you get the right one for your car no1joey. There are different types of powersteering fluid obviously. WHen my powersteering was leaking last month and I had to top it up, it was either $50 for a 1 litre bottle of Holden branded stuff, or free from a mate who works at Valvoline - but my Vectras use this weird Dextran M formula. When I called up Valvoline to check, the guy asked for the build date, so possibly that means that Holden/Opel changed the type of fluid used in the middle of the model - so if you go with the non-OEM stuff, give their help line a call to be 100% sure.
