Rattle / Light knock astra ts

Hi guys, Ok it has me stuffed, can not for the life of me figure out what the new rattle/knock is, Not the common astra injector or tappets noise, this is,sounds like bottom end somewhere, not big end, it would have a a deep knock, it sounds like theres a nut rattling around in the motor, or kinda like a timing belt pulley is about to fall to bits, but i have checked them and water pump bearing, its not a good sound at all. bit like piston slap on number 1. but it runs fine no smoke, anyone had same prob???

weird but have to ask, could it be the starter motor rattling ,as sometimes go to start it and its like the battery is flat, but its not, could by any chance the starter motor isnt disengaging and its constantly spinning ..and the bearing in the starter motor is whats making the noise??
