Hello from across the ditch.
Family originally from UK and GM have been in the family for ages.
Cavalier from 1980 to 1988
Belmont from 1988 to 1995
Corsa from 1997 to 2004
Astra AH from 2004 till now - my bro has 04 1.7 Diesel on 235,000 kilometers
and i have Astra AH 2005 1.7 petrol in NZ. An old car but cars are expensive here so aim to keep this one going for a while.
Joined forum as i hope to learn more about basic maintenance i can do on my own and what i should do to keep my Z18XE engine going.
The car had 64,000 kms on the clock when i bought it but done 40k in last 15 months as used for commute. Cam belt was done at 32k by previous owner but i'm probably going to get it done again soon as i've started to here a whining noise from cam belt area. Only done 73k on this belt. No idea if water pump was done at 32k, plus the tensioners etc.
I look forward to navigating the forum!
