Hi from a newbie,

My daughters 2008 AH Astra 1.8L Auto Hatch with 76k's remains stuck in D4 when driving.

Using the auto as a "manual" the engine and transmission perform very well.

The error codes encountered are:
P 0105 Map sensor. The engine runs and idles perfectly.
P 0110 Intake Air temp sensor circuit low/high input.
P 1700 Service Vehicle Soon. Request from Transmission Control Module (TSM)
P 1895 Limp Mode. limited engine torque signal range or invalid data from ECM.

When I reset the codes the engine idles and runs perfectly, but then when it is driven it is not long until the limp mode is engaged. In fact it takes about 3-4 seconds from engaging the transmission for the gear box to return to D4 once the engine is started. When codes are reset and the brake and/or accelerator pedal (s) are released the Service light comes back on. However until the engine is started the gear indicator comes up as D1 as it should. It will remain lit at D1 until the engine starts. Suggesting an error input has been activated. But the errors return to the SVS immediately after releasing the pedal (s); and before the engine has started.

The weird thing is that after resetting the error codes they reappear as soon as the pedal (s) are released.

When the vehicle is in D4, whether driving or idle the "sport" and "winter" buttons do not activate. When I reset the errors and before the engine is started the sport and winter button operate correctly.

I have checked all fuses and connections. Transmission oil is at correct level and of good quality. slightly brown but not burnt. Certainly not milky.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Forum,
Any members had personal experiences or know of someone please post some ideas.
Even my mechanic is at wits end and the bank balance is suffering.

Thanks.

You need to get the car scanned with a scanner that can read tcm codes. All the codes you have listed are engine codes and p1700 tells you that transmissions codes have been stored.

Thanks nigelh.

I just removed and serviced the transmission selector module and there was nothing wrong there. (Why do they use rivets).

Shall get the TCM codes read.
Cheers

Asked my mechanic and he said that he already has read the TCM codes.
He said the P1895 (limp mode) is fro the TCM.

If he is incorrrect what should the codes be?
Thanks

Oh well - thanks for the assistance.
This seems to have every one stumped. Such a good looking vehicle with its RED skin. I will now have to sell it. Maybe a mechanic might be interested.
Stay well
