I'll sign. Too bad its fwd and the IDSPlus chassis (Interactive Driving System) with electronic CDC (Continuous Damping Control) sounds too intrusive.

as if holden would ever invest in something like that, they're too busy advertising the all new and exciting alloytech V6 or busy spending money fitting a second cam to the LS1 so it can still use pushrods and only 4 of the 8 cylinders when cruising. how exciting! :screwy: :screwy:

Intrusive? Hell no! It's the best thing since, i don't know what, but it's SOO good, you'll never want a car without IDS+ again in your life.*

First of all you have two - very different - damper modes. One for those really bad streets, where the car behaves like you'd expect it from a stock car in that class, and the other mode, where you literally feel (big wheels with low rims needed) every street mark you pass. Plus almost no pitch when cornering. It's great.

Combine this with a more direct steering and faster reaction to acceleration and you have a really sporty car.

Even the ESP becomes active only in 'extreme' situations (i.e. very late). All in all a great thing by Opel.

*I drove almost 15.000km with my Astra H, with IDS+ and sport switch, so I think I'm qualified to say that.

Edit: About the OPC - here's an official photo from Opel with some Irmscher extras - looks so great, IMO:

I'd love to.

I do however, seriously doubt Holden will release this Model, when Sales so far of the AH Astra aren't exactly going through the Roof.

And let's face it. This is Australia.

If you want a sporty car of this Ilk, you'll most likely have to buy it under some other Brand Name. Or import it yourself.

Some examples of these are:

1. The Lotus Elysse - Identical in mechanics to the Vauxhall/Opel VXR.
2. Peugeot 206 - Similar to the Vauxhall/Opel Tigra
3. Renault Scenic - Similar to the Vauxhall/Opel Meriva

And yet Holden aren't ever likely to take these on.

They obviously don't see the money in it. What can you do?
