Hi there all, first and foremost thank you for letting me join the site. I hope to meet lots of like minded people here. I'm located in Sydney NSW and unfortunately the other day my 1992 calibra 16v was involved in an accident. I would like to fix the panel damage and keep driving the car but unfortunately I'm getting a bit tired of the constant shortage of wrecking cars up in sydney. Therefore I am considering the possibility of parting the car out when the rego goes in a month, however I will be keeping the 20xe and box and ECU. Everything else will be available. I was wondering if anybody knows of a step by step guide to putting a c20xe in a holden barina and some tips if anybody on the site has done this with Australian spec parts. Thanks all for looking, hope to meet you all.

Welcome to OA, thanks Pete for the mention! I do own a Barina with the C20 in it even though I didn't do the conversion myself I did gather a lot of info in regards to doing one as I did intend on doing it myself but ended up finding the car already built, PM me and I can help out if need be I have a bunch of digital conversion guides I did pay for them, but will be happy to send copies via email to yourself if interested!

Welcome along.

For a C20XE into the SB Barina/Corsa B, you can pretty much buy all the mounts and the modified gear linkage online from the UK. Rufion did have a guide on the old Holden Barina forum, but that all got lost when the dickhead admin ripped off a forum member and shut it down without notice. Wiring isn't that hard I believe, it's only a few wires to the from the Calibra engine loom to the plug in the Corsa's footwell. Driveshafts and hubs is the other thing. I can't remember which combination you need, but I remember something about 22 spline Barina/Corsa B GSi shafts with different CVs inner and outer coupled with conversion hubs (I have a set of conversion hubs and bearings here that I'm not using).

Also, best Corsa Bs models to use for this swap are those with power steering, as most of the mounts you can buy off the shelf are made to fit what's known as a Type 2 bodyshell, which has a different RHS engine mount that allows for the power steering pump to be fitted.
