I was talking to the guys at Midas the other day, as I plan on getting a 2 1/4 inch cat back installed and I wanted to get dual exits.

They informed me that it is illegal now to have dual exits on a car which wasn't designed to have them.

What are peoples thoughts/opinions?

dual exits as in exhausts with two tips, or twin muffler setups?

the twin muffler setup is believable..

the police just go and ruin all the fun

maybe they are reffering to custom work having to be done to the actual metal underneath to accomodate the 2nd muffler?

lotta cars run around here with that and they don't get pulled over....think it's just the midas guys' not wanting to get into trouble or something....

yeah i know they are around, but i think what they were getting at is perhaps new laws which state they cannot put on second mufflers legally.....

hmm dunno really....would have to ask around i guess

Remus make a Dual Exhaust system. And as far as i am aware...no problem.

This is Vic though. May have diff laws in Qld.

Edit - This is still a single muffler with a branch that goes to the drivers side.

BAH! It's only the dB levels they look out for!
