Elm bod scanner

Can someone using one of these Elm units or similar tell me what the range is please? As in how far from the car you can be and still link to it? Thinking about using it for some sort of data logging.

Well its bluetooth, so about 10m at most.

Basic ones on eBay around 5m before it drops out. (could be phone or module)
Snap on one that I use with my scanner is good for 30m.

And pretty useless for most data logging as they don't update anywhere near fast enough.
