I kind of sold the car. I did a deal with my parents. They wanted a cheap car for my mum to run around in so they said they would buy it back off me if i put it back to standard and 65,000km service ($850 later) which was due. It might actually be good for the old Astra, it'd be lucky to do 10km in a week now. I still get to drive it though till i find another car.

As for the gearbox, it's running great now, just having to take it very easy. I'm going to have a look at a few cars this week then going down to Sydney to look around sometime soon.

Anyways if i had unlimited money and still had the Astra... well there's alot and i couldn't be bother typing it all out.

well i don't know too much about engines and stuff but here's a shot...

Into a 2001 Astra CD sedan:
-drop something like a s15 sr20det engine or the engine from 05 Sube liberty in
-Unichip
-heads ported, polished, cc'd (watever that is....?)
-upgrade to required exhaust system (no s***house cannon exhaust tip)
-upgrade gearbox (strengthen)

Tune it to about 250fwkw

-Conversion to RWD!

-Painted in EVO VII grey

-17x9 BBS Racing wheels (not sure which)
-Upgrade to braided brake lines
-something like 6 Brembo piston calipers
-something like 365mm slotted and cross-drilled discs
-full K-mac springs and shocks
-full Whiteline swaybar and camber kit

-JVC KDLHX505 touch screen h/unit (i have currently)
-US Audio 4 channel comp spec amp
-Fusion 12 in sub

I wish! Well,Opel Monza's are rarer than snow on Bondi Beach so you dont mess around too much. Money no object, I would have mine nut and bolt retored, keep the terrific Recaro interior but have it relined in grey leather and red piping. I would have her painted metallic black. Standard brakes are a joke, so all 4 would be Tarox with braided piping. Engine? Definately a Holden VTS transplant with Luke pipes. Tasteful alloys. Tinted windows & a quality ICE. I would definately not alter the profile in any way..it is a great looking Opel anyway. The best car for me is a "Q" car... one that does not shout about what it can do but gets respect on the street.
