HI all
Thought i would post up a review of the hardware and softwarethat i been playing with to have a look at your ecu
First off it wont let you remap :( but that could be a good thing as you could over write the wrong data and screw your ecu
I talks to the ECU via the diag port under the handbrake it uses a hardware converter that plugs in to the port and then plugs in to a windows pc/laptop
<http://www.scantool.net/index.htm>
this the converter im using but there are more on the market
<http://www.digimoto.com>
<http://www.palmerperformance.com/index.php>
these are the links to the software
Now digimoto is not as good as pcmscan but it does have a 1/4 mile timer and a H/P calc
pcmscan is the "dogs" it lets you check all the trouble codes that come up on the dash (that nasty little engine light ) and explains them in plain english
It lets you check
intake temp (good for you peeps with LET's after you do a intercooler change)
Air flow (MAF & MAP) change to a K&N and see the change
timing advance
Throttle position
rpm
speed
fule curve
o/2 sensors
and a lot more
the only problem i have found is that when its monitoring its a bit slow in the updates from the ECU but thats the interface not the car or software
and you can graph and plot your data to play back later (just like real in real race car setups)
Now it will only talk to OBD-11 or EOBD compliant ECU,s
(what models these are im not to sure all after 2000 i think )
any holden mechanics ???
mine is a New Zealand Spec 2002 2.2 SRI and i have had no probs
its a handy tool to check those trouble codes without going to a dealer
:D
