Newbie in Perth

Hi All

Names is Mat and i am in Perth :boorny:

i am looking at buying an SRi turbo so i thought i would sign up here to get more info
from owners instead of taking advise from people that have no idea lol.

i am currently looking at 2008 SRI turbo, if you guys have any advise for me on
what to look out for and stuff like that please i am all hears... or eyes i suppose is
more appropriate.

firstly welcome aboard and yeah do it !! good little car . only things i can say to check for would be if the belts had been changed at every 60thou and check if the gearstick moves when engaging the clutch in first or fifth gear as its a good indicator of a tired gearbox .

Welcome to opelaus. Only real issues with them is the m32 gearbox. Check fpr play as scamp said and also listen for any noisy bearings in the gearbox. Its an expensive exercise to get it all fixed.

Cheers for the welcomes guys, I am glad that there aren't many things to look out for. I probably won't be buying for another month as I have to wait till the wife is back on her feet and able to drive again. But in the mean time I am doing as much research as I can to know what to look out for and how much I should spend
