Hi guys,

When I bought my '01 astra about a year ago one of the first things I noticed was that the piece of plastic trim between the roof and the windscreen was loose. Not to my amazement, the same piece has since come off while driving and has probably travelled to some exotic location by now. I was wondering if there are any aftermarket sites to purchase a replacement or must I go through Holden (here in Australia) and buy a brand new one, which will probably cost me an arm and a leg.

Also, along the more aesthetic lines, my steering wheel badge has lost a chunk of its fake chrome. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen and are there any solutions to restoring it to an almost original stock appearance?

Thanks in advance for any tip and tricks.

I've got a top windscreen moulding in good condition. I'll need to see if i can remove it cleanly if you like. Will probably be the cheapest option.
otherwise if you want new. its either of the following part numbers.
13183573 or 90579530

as for airbag badge.
its an easier process to replace the whole airbag with one thats in good condition. Check out ebay to see whats out there.
to just replace the badge you need to remove airbag, then remove the cover (you won't need to undo the rivets at the top) fold it back without disturbing airbag. then undo plastic welds that hold badge in place. put new badge in. reverse to refit.

That would be awesome if you were able to remove it cleanly. The wreckers around here don't sell them, basically said I have to purchase a new one.
Hit me me up with some details if you manage to get it off al-right.

Quick question for Guy, does that top window trim remove easily? - or is it glued down?
I have an ant infestation in mine and always wanted to remove it to clean beneath it, but didn't want to destroy it in the process.

usually bonded in place with urethane.

okay removed from car cleanly.

Good news is MAD-16V is they are easy to remove. just take off rail covers, lift one side of rubber and pull it out.

Bad news. You will most likely need to remove windscreen to refit but i'd say if you have a little bit of time. just spray some wd40 on it and gently put it back in place.
ScottyBarc i'll send you a pm with pricing shortly. postage might be fun as its quite long.
