Hey guys,

I'm doing a major service on my 2008 Sri-T.

Upon pulling the motor apart to have a look what was needed due to some oil leaking, I needed a replacement coil pack, and rocker cover gasket amongst replacing the timing belt / water pump / non return valveetc.

I was advised by Holden that there are no coil packs nor rocker cover gaskets in the country and they would not be available. Bear in mind the car is not even 6 years old yet and they have stopped stocking parts.

Shouldnt part be available for 10 years?

I was led to believe the same thing, that they had to carry parts for ten years.

cheaper to get the parts from overseas anyway and there is plenty of stock.

Rocker cover gaskets are kept in stock at most holden dealerships as they are small and fail quite commonley on the z20le* engines.

Cheers guys.

Ive ordered pretty much all I need now just waiting on some parts that are on backorder.

Also ordered the DBA T3 Front rotors and T2 rear Rotors with QFM HPX pads from Greg @ GSl Rallysport. Looking forward to making this thing fee like new again.

Can I ask Senior, did your coil pack 'pack it in' or were you just advised to replace it?

I had a 2004 TS 2.2 before my 07T and it was horrendous with coil packs! I actually destroyed the engine due to driving home in limp home mode because the 6th coil pack packed it in.

If they are going to be a problem on my Z20LEH, I will buy one soon and just carry it in the car with me at all times.

FYI, not long ago I ordered RC Gasket, W/Pump, all Pulleys, T/Belt, DeCat Pipe from the UK, Courtenay's I think, and had it landed in 4days for approx. $360AUD, not that you can do that through a dealership anyway.

The last coil has a crack in the plastic which was probably causing my car to misfire. Spewing they come in 4, would have been nice to just replace the last one lol.

Woah you got a good deal.

I would be reporting that lazy parts interpreter too (my personal opinion). Its these people that continue to give the dealers and brand a bad name.

Glad you got it all sorted though mate. chrissn89 is a legend.

Woah you got a good deal.
I needed to recoupe my losses somewhere seeing I was paying $180/coilpack (in the end) second hand, $380 aftermarket and something like $760 genuine.

Glad I got rid of the car. 07Turbo is twice the car.

Might put another order in one day for some more goods.

Mine has a misfire too, and a broken non-return valve. Strange thing is that it doesn't misfire on cold morning starts when the choke(?) is on, but all other times it does. Leads me to believe it's probably not the coil but the valve thingy, which might be bypassed with the choke is on.

This is my theory based on level zero mechanical knowledge.

Once my car is up and running I'll let you know what sorted it out. I'm pretty much replacing everything that may be causing it; scattergun blanket approach hahaha.

I'm now thinking of getting an aftermarket intercooler whilst the car in pieces, it just makes sense.

Would people recommend the CS one and how easy is the install?
