Hi guys. So I'm in for a new set of wheels. I've spent much time online looking at exactly what i want but haven't really had much experience with purchasing large items from overseas. Postage is ridiculous and i've read if its a product above $1000, import tax fees and what not comes into action.

Any recommendations on wheel shops in Melbourne/Australia if the online choice is not ideal?

Any help would be appreciated.

Ben.

What car? Size you are after?

I've purchased wheels from overseas and they came well under the $1000 mark. Even though freight is a little expensive it's still cheaper than buying local

freight and insurance costs are not counted towards the $1000 duty free import limit. You got to make sure though that shipping costs are separately mentioned on the invoice.

Ok thanks guys. Yeah looking at a set of 17"s . Ride is a 02 Astra G Hatch.

I'm tossing up between these two:

if it was my car and I could only pick out of these 2, I would have gone for the Fox wheels

Thanks for the replies guys. I've contacted a handful of places around Australia, so far haven't been able to find someone who stocks the FX004. I have found a similar design, the Fox X-Tuning which some places have, but i will keep trying for the other design.

X-Tuning.

i'm in the process of buying an Arden Blue Corsa OPC and the Fox FX004 is what i had in mind for it. not sure if to do silver or white though? was thinking white with orange calipers bit like the Gulf racing colours

Let me know how you go with that. I've had no luck with shops stocking the FX004 in Australia.

In the next few weeks i'm looking at purchasing a full wheel & tyre package from Tempe Tyres. I have a choice between a 40 and 42 offset with the Fox X-Tuning's. Any ideas on what will work best?

Ben.

either offset will be fine. difference is only 2mm.
presuming you are going the 17 x 7.5 ones.

pretty sure i would have to import them. picked the car up today and have to say the stock wheels are nicer than i expected. (i bought the car sight unseen) might not bother with after market now?
