What are some mods that I could do to my astra sri turbo Z20LER? So far I got a 3" exhaust system.
Is it worth get a cold air intake or just a k&n filter for the stock intake?
Strut braces maybe?
Want to eventually get it custom tuned to 98 octane. I'm in Sydney so would you guys please also recommend a good tuner for the astra?
Say max spend around $3.5k including tune.
Any advice on how I can be most cost effective??
ps I'm new to the forum and have just bought the car so...hello and thank you all in advance for your input. :D

would certainly be going for the whiteline rear roll bar , makes it handle much better. Would also say to get the diesel air box and k&n filter for it as it gets rid of the crossover pipe ( wish i knew about it earlier ) and get the eds ipf flashtuner . Check out the following websites http://www.courtenaysport.co.uk/buy-online/cat_2.html or http://regal-auto.co.uk/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_9

what Guy said and get an ipf. If you dont already put 98 in, what do you use then ?

I haven't refuelled yet. Will use vpower. I want to custom tune @ 98 after few mods. This will maximise my power gains.

I would do some research on what's required to get some gains
IPF would be your best bet on the tune

A front mount intercooler will give you a nice gain. I gained 16 kW on my SRi T

No need to tune your car specifically for 98, you can always use that fuel, it'll run smoother if you do. Get an ipf, will give you exactly what you're after straight away.

Go on tx autosport and have a look there, that's the one I have.

What so you guys think about unichip?

Wouldn't bother, too restricted compared to eds ipf

As poita said. Unichip's a waste of time and money. The EDS IPF tuning system is kinda like the CAPA tuner boxes you can get for the Falcons, just a s**tload more flexible.

Tx autosport intercoolers should be no more than 600 posted. They are 250gbp + 90gbp postage just make sure you tell them we dont pay vat in australia

Did you put the intercooler in yourself?

Would a fuel injector upgrade be recommended?

no need with basic mods

Yeah I fitted my own intercooler. Its a very basic job. Just disconnect the old rubber hoses and refit the new silicon and aluminum pipework.

What about cam upgrade?

Mate, once again, get an ipf to start with. They got maps available for all of your wishes (ie. other injectors etc...)

Get the IPF first as everyone has stated. Load the tune and then decide how much further you want to go.
Seriously think about your suspension tuning prior to going any further and also an LSD.
Would not even consider cams, injectors etc.

Your budget is limited so spend wisely !
