Anyone know where i can get 2 pieces of steel? About 20cm x 100cm each, and with a little bend on one end. I want to place it on the steel ramps so my car can go on it. As it is, i cant get it on the ramp cos the front is too slow. It would have to be fairly thick to support the cars weight when it drives up (but once its up, it wont be resting on it). Basic diagran shown below.

Also, any ideas how much it would cost? Also, preferably around the blacktown or north shore area.

I know on my old ramps we had thick rubber that help with traction and gave it a bit of a slightly easier incline.

Or do you mean the front of your car is to low?

yeah, front of the car is too low. the bit in front of the front tyres.

buy recycled cause new is expensive stuff,
they should be able to bend it and i think you have to buy in 1 metre lengths

There was a guy who made a lift entirely out of wood.

I've got a mate who works with steel, and as 16vopl said, it wouldn't be worth getting new stuff $$. You could try using solid wooden blocks. Just cut them to the angle u need to fill the gap. Just an idea.

Good luck

Hey - i have steel contacts but the cost of getting something like that is not cheap as would have to be cut and bend for you. Better to just make out of timber. That will be strong enought as long as you use thick stuff.

Or just make 2 competly out of timber.

I have the same problem.
All you need is a couple of planks about an inch is so thick and about a meter long.
Place them infront of your ramps. Once your front wheels are on the planks the front of the car clears the ramp.

i paid about $400 fully installed for mine to be installed....u CAN"T use anything less than checkerplate steel as any other metal will not hold the cars weight..mine's spanned about half a meter either side of the width of one garage space...

what's there not to get?

"namus, is ur car really low or something" = why do you need a custom ramp made up?

"Pics or ban!" is a well known online saying. It's a joke, post pics of your car, or you get "banned"
