Approx prices of certain modifications

Hey guys,

I'm currently saving up for an 03 astra sri-t and im new to the whole mod game.

Was just wondering if some of you could tell me the approx price that you guys paid for the following mods:

- Intercooler system or cold air intake system
- lowering of car
- Boost gauge price + installation
- Mod Chip

Intercooler is anywhere from $500 for a tx one up to a couple of thousand for a forge intercooler.

Lowering the car you can get springs for 200. Spring and shock combos for a few hundred, decent quality springs and shocks for $1000ish. Cheap coilovers for under 500 and good coilovers can be a few thousand.

Boost gauge is about 50 bucks plus an hour installation.

Keep away from mod chips. They are not good for your car or engine.

Also, approx how much for a cold air intake? would this be a better option over the front mount intercooler?

Both air intake and upgraded intercooler are highly reccomended. For intake your best going with a 2.2 or 1.9cdti airbox mod. Keeps it looking factory and has slight proven gains. Air intakes dont make mega power differences though.

Also you will be looking anywhere from about 100 upwards depending on what pipework you want to run etc.

Sounds good, I might go for the intake upgrade first...then work towards the front mount. thanks for your advice man

Thats the way to do it. Start with the smaller cheaper mods first then build up to the bigger mods. Quite often the smaller mods will help the bigger mods.

Don't forget about and exhaust system as the standard system is a bit restrictive. I paid $390 for a 2 1/2 inch cat back with one rear silencer. Made a nice improvement.

Thanks for the advice on the exhaust, is it possible to get a 2.5 cat back that isn't much louder than the standard?

Well yeah, you can get an extra silencer fitted. I opted to go with just one on the rear, sounds nice and quiet when cruising but mean when boosting :) also pops and bangs which sounds awesome lol

That sounds like a good option! :) last question, where did you get your exhaust fitted?
