Both my cars are insured fully comp through Bingle.

I got my renewal for my SRI-T through and the value had dropped $1000. No problem, I just went online and adjusted it back up,

The renewal for my TS City came through and the insured value went down from $5000 to $3400! WTF? That's dropping by almost 1/3 in 12 months. I went online to put it back up and I can't! The maximum value is now $4000.

What value have people got similar cars insured for and through which company? I was very happy with Bingle but now if the car is written off, I walk away with $2800 after deducting my excess and I there is no way I could replace the car for that.

I had my TS City insured through bingle for $5500 when I first bought it in 2011. When the renewal came through in 2012, they dropped it to $3800. I wasnt going to try and insure it for more, but I did notice that they wouldnt let me raise it above $4200

I ended up calling Real Insurance and got it insured for $4750 for a premium that worked out about $40 a year less. It wasnt what I wanted, but it was a hell of a lot better than Bingle.

So it might be a standard thing for Bingle. I tried doing a new quote but the highest value I could use was $4200 as well.

I could understand dropping the value $500 in 12 months, but not decreasing it by almost 1/3, especially when the SRI-T dropped by less than 10%!

There's no point in staying loyal, every year you pretty much have to do the rounds of every company to get the best deal.

The price of the premium is good, but it's not worth having if I can't replace the car with the payout!

Bingle is just rubbish.

They ask a million questions.

I stuck with Allianz which was cheaper anyway.

Anyway, you don't know your insurance company until you make a claim.

I just emailed Bingle to ask why this happened. I'll be interested to hear their response.
