Hi Everybody,
I'm new here and love reading what you have done to your vehicles.
I've had a TS Astra "Classic" since 2005, it is now time to make some updates.
Nothing too drastic - I always use Premium fuel, and simply want to advance the spark timing a little to take full advantage of the fuel.
Any ideas where to start?
PS..I am kind of skeptical of the e-bay OBD gadgets, but if you know of a good one, please let me know
PPS.. Apologies if there is already a thread on this that I have missed - if so, please point me to the thread.

There are no adjustments for spark timing. It's all ecu controlled.

Sorry, I didn't explain my question properly.
Has any body had any good experience of altering the ecu program? What hardware did you use?
Are the chips stable enough to modify some parts, or do you need to reflash the whole eeprom file?

here in australia i don't believe anyone has the hardware to modify ecu files due to cost of the hardware.
the gains out of a z18xe are minimal (10hp max) without adding engine hardware. cost vs gains are not really viable.

have a read of this recent thread
