View Full Version : sound insulation from exhaust options?

Hi guys,

The Minister of War and Finances (the misses) has decided that my exhaust's noise penetrates into the cabin too much, making it hard to have conversations (she's extremely quiet usually).

So I had a quick look around for options and I noticed the spare wheel well would act more or less like a reverb chamber for the exhaust.

What kind of options are there for sound insulating the interior? I'm about to pull my door cards off to put electric windows in so while I'm doing that if it's worth putting some on the doors I'd do that to.

What brands? Prices etc should I be looking for?

I don't want to add too much extra weight to the car, but hopefully it'll be negligible?

Cheers

Dynamat is what you're after.

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? If so maybe a better rear muffler will be a better option.
The one on my car has an anti drone pipe inside of it. When just cruising around its very quiet.

Cheers I'll have a hunt around supercheap etc. to see what prices are like.

Yeah it's aftermarket so I might get a better muffler, we'll see.

can have a hotdog welded in between exhaust, these are cheap.
