They are saying that customization would be an issue in delivering to an Australian market. But is this the real excuse? Or is customization just a smoke screen for a poor performance car that Australians wouldn't buy?

I'd agree with them, and if they were to bring them in, they'd have to limit the options otherwise it would drive the prices right up.
