Yes that's right boys and girls, just read it in wheels mag, They'll be bringing the 2.0 16V Turbo. Pitty it's the smaller of the SRiT's in europe.
Dates are still TBA.

The straight line perfomance isn't as good as the current SRi Turbo. Its about 50kg heavier, has 12Nm more torque but that arrives at 4200rpm. All I can say is that it better handle better. I'd rather get the new Golf gti.

It doesn't seem all too impressive to me.

If I was going turbo FWD i'd definitely be buying a Renault Megane Turbo instead.

There are two SRi turbos... 170hp and 200hp. And I don't think there is much hardware differences between them. Simply controlled via the ECU.

the only way Australia will get the 200bhp version is if HSV put a 4cyl in its class...
is the 200bhp the 190Kw GTC version with the 19" wheels???? :screwy:

so yeah unless HSV get nvolved then we will never get the top spec model in Oz :(.

As people have said from the UK, once both the current astra T is moving and the "170hp" version is moving, it's damn close near as quick as the current astra T as it's got shorter gears and a 6sp box... So even though they are not as fast off the mark, they can move quick!

For nearly $10K more? Its a str8 line tourer not a car for attacking twisty roads.
