So, most people on here have one or more Opels, but I'd be interested to find out if anyone drives anything else. Do you have a different daily or a weekend car?

I've got my two Astras, but also have a Golf VR6 that I had big plans for, but now I'm desperately trying to justify keeping it as it hasn't moved for four months.

I've also just acquired a Hyundai Accent which we pulled out of a mate's back yard! I'm planning to clean that up and sell it ASAP.

Shut up Pete...

I have a 2001 E46 BMW 325Ci (manual) as a daily. Absolutely love it! Don't get me wrong I loved my previous Opels especially the Corsa B which I miss to this day, but the Beema is in a different league. It's awesome just cruising, it's awesome giving it a squirt through some twisties, it's even awesome with the ass-end hanging out in 2nd.
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c171/paulyj/20120727_133637small.jpg

Have now also acquired from Steve [XPLOSV57] a 83 AE71 Toyota Corolla which will be a dedicated track car.
Plans are to first Grandpa Spec it up with fender mirrors (bought), front window visor (bought) and venetians .
Then I'll look at the interior and removing the usuals ie. carpet, rear seats, replacing front seats with race seats and doing a full cage.
Suspension, engine and drivetrain is pretty much decided on but now waiting on funds.
I'll start a build thread on it soon.

Finally a thread where I can talk about my other cars without being told to shut up or have posts deleted about them especially the Merc LOL :D

My most significant other, is a current model Mercedes Benz C250-CDI Coupe it's used as my daily driver and for everything else inbetween, just as Pauly 's mentioned about his Beemer it's the same for me with this Merc ie. it's that good in every respect I simply find it hard to go back to and drive anything else...

I still enjoy the weekend squirts in my vert and alot of other nice cars I get access to, but the Merc is in a totally different league !

Could put up pics but there's heaps on this thread taken on day of delivery: http://www.opelaus.com/forums/showthread.php?32828-Took-delivery-of-my-new-Merc-C-Class-Coupe

I don't actually have an OPEL yet... (waiting until March ;) ) however my other car at present is a MY12 Lancer. used to be a mitsubishi driver for the last 23 years however they are starting to go down the drain and don't keep up with the times...

So yeah, a simple MY12 lancer with leather steering, CVT tranny, ralliart front bar, bluetooth, blah blah.... :)

So far has run a best of 13.22 on street tyres with pumpgas, Don't really want to go quicker -( cost too much ) and needed it to be more consistent at the drags. Does burnouts into 3rd , great fun unless driving on wet roads , if you turning a corner and it upshifts it will instantly kick sideways if not do a full 180 even if you take your foot off the gas!!:eek6:

The other ride I don't list in the sig, but have mentioned a bit throughout the forum is my work vehicle, a 2010 Hyundai iLoad van with the 2.5L D4CB turbo diesel engine and 5 speed manual box. Goes really well, but it is unreliable as f***. I've rebuilt the engine at 68,000kms (just hit 150,000 this week), the clutch and flywheel have had to be replaced (now has Exedy HD clutch and single mass flywheel) and now the aircon has crapped itself.

Between this van's unreliability and Hyundai's piss poor customer relations, the iLoad isn't too bad to drive. I just wish I didn't have a bad word to say about it, but I've got plenty more than I ever wanted for the $40+k it's cost me so far.

I do have another van, a 92 SH Mitsubishi Express SWB with carby 4G63 on LPG and manual. I originally bought it to get around during the time I was getting the iLoad fixed (that took about 3 months), but since lending it to my brother, it's now got a blown head gasket and needs some work to get the petrol part running again. It was an ex-tradie job, complete with racks and signage, which were later removed. For a van that's 20 years old and has covered 450,000kms, I think it still went alright before the head gasket went. I soon plan on replacing the gasket, as well as a few other things in order to get it running again and keep it as a backup as I never know when the iLoad will iFail again. Plus, it's pretty much worth nothing if I were to sell it or scrap it. Although, if between the GSi, the E30 and the iLoad I somehow get bored, I could always fit a V6 in it, lol.

Heh, its actually an awesome daily, 64,000km's without so much as a mechanical issue :)
Lightweight and manual so goes ok for day to day stuff.

Best part is the fuel card, not paying for rego, insurance etc!

Hmmm, I seem to have a spare Buick V6 and an engine crane sitting in my garage! Conversion kits are about $1400 last time I looked. That would make a mean sleeper.

The Hyundais seem to be pretty tough mechanically. The Accent we just pulled out of my mates back yard hadn't been run for 18 months and had weeds growing up through it. Gave it a super good wash, changed the oil and ran some flush through it and it's come up well. Started second go even after all that time.

It had a few minor dints in it, but the panels are so thin that I just pushed most of them back out!

we have had 6 of them in the fleet, combined ~380,000km's in them and zero issues.
Not bad for $13k drive away with a 5 year warranty

In Hong Kong we have a Volvo XC90 R-Design 2.5T with a BSR Stage 2 tuning kit on it ( tune, filter & exhaust)

In Australia we have:

1) a 2010 VW Tiguan 147TSi with a Bluefin Stage 1 tune;

2) Silver 2003 Astra SRi-T with approx 160kw ATW's which I bought from Pete on here over Xmas

2) Black Astra SRi-T which is in the process of being finished as a Time Attack car

3) 1972 Porsche 911 SC which is in 100,000 different pieces as I'm trying to rebuild it myself and do an RS conversion on it. Only been 11 years and counting!!!

Nice one Gman !!!

Only just yesterday my next door neighbour finally got a hold of his 1982 Porsche 911 SE Targa which he purchased about a month ago from a guy in Sydney it's in pretty good shape with around 140,000km on it , went for a fang and although not exactly my cup of tea it was an enjoyable ride none the less, except for the transmission the manual gearboxes in those things are an absolute piece of crap it takes about 5 minutes to shift between gears LOL love the sound of the old flat 6 boxer engine :D

I'll be getting my hands on a ground up brand new built '67 Camaro rag top very soon !!!! all original except for a 4 sp turbo hydra trans and a worked over 400 small block :cornut:

She's keen to buy either a GTi, Astra OPC or a 135i. Fingers crossed on the OPC or 135.

Yeah a pretty good little car for general use/runabout ....

Build quality is a bit iffy like bumper fitment etc, and the glove box is useless, the lid doesn't line up to well and ours actually fell off lol

But for the price you can pick them up for and the bit of performance you get out of them, yeah a good little and fun car.....

Have now sold my Statesman :sad:after having her since 94 I thought it was time to sell it but I'm sure gonna miss her !
Have now bought a brand new ( 2012plated ) mazda6 . Sure as hell slower than the statey and the astra but the interior is omg flash. Mazda dealers sure want to get rid of them as they not only wanted to talk deals on price but also threw in a bucket load of extras, the one i'm gettin even has the uprated interior , the only option it's missing off the top model is no flappy paddle gear changing which i did'nt want for it anyway
