Hello everyone,

My name is Kieran. I don't currently own an Opel but am looking to get a 2003 Astra SRi Turbo in the next few weeks. My faithful Honda Jazz met it's demise thanks to a truck's failing brakes so just waiting on the insurance to come through. My parents bought a Golf 77TSI after I convinced them to take one for a test drive and I'm thoroughly impressed with how a car drives when it's torque is available low in the rev range so the TS SRi T with it's 250Nm available from 1950rpm looks very interesting to me, plus I've always loved the shape of the 3 door TS Astra.

I don't have any major plans for the Astra other than some Angel Eyes (opinions on Mars Performance's CCFL Angel Eyes?) and maybe allowing it to breathe a little easier (I've read a CDTi airbox can help plus some bits from UK VXR's).

Anyways, look forward to sharing all this with you.

Cheers.

So I've arranged to have a look at this on Wednesday. 2003 Holden Astra SRi Turbo on Car Sales (http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/holden-astra-2003-13489606?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=2&eapi=2&__N=4294739806%204294950628%201282%204294965857%20 4294965856%201216&num=15&silo=Stock&sort=~Odometer)

There are only two others on Car Sales with less kilometres and the prices jump quite a bit. What are some things to look out for? Since the big 120,000km service is due soon, how much am I looking at for that? $800 or $900?

Willhouse's Astra is on car sales also, and looks bloody nice but it might be a bit far away.

I'm assuming he's dropped the price from $9500 to $7800 but hasn't changed it in the comments section but I'll ask him.

Well, went and had a look at it today. It seems to have lived a hard life, didn't look anywhere near as nice as the pictures. Oh well, the search continues.

Yes I did hazrd. Thank you all. Drove it home today. 910km avergaing 6.9L/100km so pretty happy with that and when I needed to over take people, boy did it get up and go! As a comparison, my mum's 2011 VW Golf 77TSI got 5.9L/100km so considering the Astra has twice as many killer wasps (before FMIC, exhaust and tune) and one less gear to play with you've gotta be happy with that! It really is in great condition and a credit to Chris and Will. I'll look after her gentlemen. One photo from this morning before we left Mudgee...

Glad to hear the trip went smoothly. You didn't take that goats track on the way back did you? Ha ha. Bit weird not having the car anymore, first time in nearly 4 years I haven't owned a silver 3 door 2003 Astra MK4!
