Hi, I'm Chris,

I'm 26 and from Yorkshire, England, and i work at a Suzuki (Car) Dealer over here.

I'm quite interested in what you guys over there do with your cars in terms of modifying etc.

I have a 2006 Vauxhall Vectra VXR 2.8T in Arden Blue, which i presume is an Opel Vectra OPC over there?

Mine is the (classed as) 255bhp model, over here in the UK they made 1001, but only later models had the 280bhp
engines, would be good to know if they did the lower bhp models over there?

Welcome, we never got the vectra VXR here, just the Astra VXR. So we never had the 2.8t unfortunately, our quickest vectra C was the 3.2L v6

so what vxr models did you get over there? here we have:

Astra VXR (2.0t - 240bhp)
Astra GTC VXR (2.0t - 280bhp) (current model)
Monaro VXR (5.7 - 349bhp & 6.0 - 397bhp)
Meriva VXR (1.6t - 180bhp)
Zafira VXR (2.0t - 236bhp)
Vectra VXR (2.8t - 255bhp & 280bhp)
VXR220 (2.0t - 200bhp)
VXR8 (6.0 - 411bhp & 6.2 - 431bhp) (current model)
Insignia VXR (2.8t - 321bhp) (current model)

They do Nurburg, Artic and Blue Editions in the Corsa and Astra and they do a
Bathurst S Edition of the VXR8 aswel i think.

tbh i'd love one of the V8 models, but running costs are bad enough with the V6 lol,
what sort of mods are popular with your cars ?

Hi! Welcome to the site.

We only got the Astra VXR here, badged as a HSV VXR. The VXR8 is the HSV Clubsport R8 out here (but no factory supercharged model), and we got heaps of Monaros, just never a 6 litre version like the Monaro VXR in the UK.

I think everyone is hoping we get the new Astra and Insignia OPCs!

The only OPC/XVR we have gotten so far is the Astra H VXR/VXR/Nurburg and the Astra J OPC (lands here March/April)

Only Vectra's we got were the GSi/SRi 3.2 V6 (CDXi/CDX) and SXi 2.2 4 pot petrol (CD)

is HSV Holden? what is the difference (if any) of the Opel and Holden models?

HSV is basically the same for Holden as VXR or OPC is for Vauxhall and Opel.

And between models like the Opel astra and Holden astra, exact same cars just Holden had the rebadged to sell as holdens rather than opels. Like the monaro and vxr8 were rebadged as vauxhalls to sell in the UK.

HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) to Holden Is essentially what VXR is to Vauxhall, or OPC to Opel :)

Fully imported and rebadged by Holden.

We are getting the Astra OPC next year, that's a definite.

:D awesome! the corsas are pretty nice motors and quite quick to boot, obvy the insignias with 321bhp are a tad beefy aswel :P

You would be correct there. I think all of the 3.2 v6 vectras over here were hatchbacks. I'd not I haveny seen any sedan/saloon version
