It relates to the Astra 1.8 ECU...
But some guy from canberra reckons that he knows 3 people with SRIs (which is weird in its self) that are having problems with their cars, namely the ecu unit.
Does this ring true because I haven't heard of it before.

Rings very true to me. I went through this whole ordeal last month. I was lucky that Holden agreed to pay for the new ECU even though the car was 1 year out of warranty....

So are you talking about the SRi engine only or both the SRi and the 1.8??

The guy from Canberra (rowdytoot) was saying that he knew 3 SRI owners that had ECU problems.

CAR: 10/2001 Astra SRi
No ECU problems here.
The car is factory standard apart from a sports muffler.
Also no timing chain problems either.
THANK GOD!!!!
I have had my water pump changed as it was leaking.
