So it has been released in Aus, for a tidy sum of $52k!

Yep that's right, $52k!

Thoughts?

Over priced and it isn't easy on the eyes. In saying that there aren't many electric cars in oz so it's probably priced competitively

Well the Volt will be priced similar when it's launched and a Prius is about half that!

Yeah I spose and both of those have reasonable looks to go for them.

**** the environment

Sorry but I'm not paying 52k for a tree with wheels. Would rather pay the extra for a HSV or OPC. Or less than that for a GTC!!

Definitely the best EV on the market, especially compared to that Mitsubishi iMEV thing. You cant view this like a normal 20k hatchback.

POFS if they want more people to buy them the price would have to be under $25,000
50k is a joke

I'm sure there will be some moral doo-gooder who with a large disposable income that will buy one and then bleat to anyone who will listen that they are doing their bit for the environment.

+1 way too much money for one. how many kms would you need to drive in order to pay it off. and arent batteries for these things really bad for the environment anyway?

I should probably add.... I saw this at the motorshow at the start of the year... The pics do the car more justice than you think. Looked terrible in the flesh

Mates dad has had one one since late last year, he was involved in designing longer lasting batteries for the Aus market so they could get more distance on a charge in the Leaf.

He said the car was great to drive and was real comfy and had some nice features, but at the time he guessed a 35-40k price tag and even then said it would be too much!!

Keep seeing a Silver Ct200h on the Mitchell. They look suprisingly good. Its what the latest Corolla should have looked like. Same platform right?
