Hey guys,

My name is Dave and I'm a complete and utter newbie when it comes to the OpelAus forums and my 2003 Astra SRI Turbo. I came across the forum after scouring the internet for more info on my new ride. I'm keen to learn more about the details of the car and what has been and can be done with them.

I'm no expert on cars but I drive for the pleasure of it. My first car (hold back the sniggers) was a SAAB 95 Aero - loved the low end torque of the turbo 2.3lt. I purchased the Astra as Holden is not bankrupt :), and it struck me as more of a drivers car than the limo type ride of the SAAB.

I hail from Melbourne in Australia so if anything is happening in Melbourne town I'd be keen to get involved. Cheers guys and look forward to learning more.

Dave

Hey Shadow110. Certainly seems that way :). I'll test it thought with the stupidest of questions - How do I upload an image..? :/

I've tried but it seems I need to use a URL? Apologies if this is not the place to ask such questions.

copy the address in and put and without the spaces, either side of the link

Or best way, get a photobucket account and follow this thread http://www.opelaus.com/forums/showthread.php?15910-How-to-Post-Photos-on-the-Forum-Using-Photobucket

Or www.imgur.com if you don't want to make an account, it's pretty intuitive from there.

Welcome to OA mate!

Thanks Nurb608. Photobucket did the trick!! :). Body work has been well looked after. I think she has taken a bit of punishment in the engine area though. I was told it was all stock when I brought it but turns out it is running a new Audi turbo which was installed with one clamp and two hoses the wrong way around. My mechanic has worked his magic and got it nice and smooth, minus an intermittent fault we're working on. :)
