Gday All

I recently bought a Astra for a run about work car and I was wondering what mods I can do to give it a little more go.

Cheers Gerard :steve:

Suspension upgrades and brakes are probably the bet thing you can do mate, I have an 01 equipe, and iv installed eibach sportlines and they have completely changed the feel of the car, power wise you wont get a lot out of the 1.8 and pretty much everyone will say it's not worth doing the engine up

ahh yep no problems, yeah i wouldn't mind stiffening up the ride a bit, feels planted to the road but boaty. Do CAI do anything to these engines, its looks like you could barely fit a grape up the intake pipe.

I have a dbilas replica intake that a uk member on here fabricates, there is a thread in the group buy section if you want to have a look at it, when I installed mine I also de restricted the airbox, gives it a little more pedal response. Some people on here have been looking at reamps and extractors as well for their engines, but I'm not sure what gains they are getting from them.

ok cool, how much are they? I don't really want to do any exhaust mods, my other car is my weekender fun loud car haha.

£85 I think. Great mod and excellently made. I think he also makes aluminium ones now for a bit extra.

Rear swaybar from Whiteline - Biggest improvement to the car for the least money.

Sway bars, there are a couple, you can get an adjustable and a non adjustable one, I think they are 23 or 24mm? Not too sure as i haven't got around o buying one as yet

ok, just had a look, there are 22mm solid, 24mm solid and 24mm 4 point adjustable. They are some thick sway bars for a small car. I may look into the adjustable one

I think the 22 mm is the front sb and the 24 mm the rears.

You want a 24mm 4point adjustable rear swaybar... The adjustable ones are actually cheaper than the solid ones because they sell a lot more of them so the manufacturing costs are reduced as they are made in bigger batches than the solid ones. Contact grea gslrallysport

Mate, used to drive an astra G. Extractors + hi-flow Cat + Straight Tru Muffler was probably the most effective mod I've done.
That being said, if you just want a good looking car: lowered, rims, bodykit --> decent cruiser.

+1 the enlarged intake and rear sway. Cost effective mods.
Springs arent too much either, $300 for some Eibach's.
