Our first Astras (http://twitter.com/#!/search?q=%23Astras) have arrived for their validation work prior to our launch in September. Let us know if you spot any on the roads (hint more likely to be seen in Victoria than the other states)... Thanks Mel

Hi Melanie - cool pics of the first Astras in Australia. Any chance we can get some sneaky pics of the first Insignias in the country too?

Some of the Melbourne guys got a close up look of the GTC and Insignia in federation square last week.

Push button hand brakes now, same as what will be in the upcoming VF Commodore

Thought it may have been similar to merc with the left press handbreak and pull release handle.

Push button hand break will be interesting

Thanks for the pics of the Insignias ChrisMaz.

I like the wagon variant (as we have a family now). But not a big fan of the wheels on that model. Prefer more sporty 5 spoke type of wheels.

As with most European spec cars, there are plenty of options to toy around with, including rims. Don't know if all of these will be available at launch however.
Vauxhall optional rims here:

more like a window switch button on the centre console. very common in lots of newer cars now.

Nope. Literal button just below the gear lever.

XC60 has a push button 'hand brake'.... I'm not a fan.

My Audi A4 has the same 'window' style handbrake switch as well :)
