404kw before a tune!!!
Crazy...

Not sure what is more crazy, the car or the fact you'd buy one.

Agreed they look like 370z tail lights

poita I thought 1800kg was meant to be the magic number for high speed handling...

@poita (http://www.opelaus.com/forums/member.php?u=116) I thought 1800kg was meant to be the magic number for high speed handling...

Says who?

1800kgs is a bit heavy. imagine stripping it down to 1500kg. the front doesn't do it for me. still a pretty cool car though.

The car itself is not light weight at over 1800kg but there is a reason for this according to the chief engineer who developed this car. This logic was that the F1 car weighs 600kg and produces 1200kg in aerodynamic down force at high speed, and the Le Mans cars weighs 1200kg and produces 600kg in aerodynamic down force. Both of these racing cars add up to 1800kg in total weight (so called total weight after adding aerodynamic down force). With a weight of 1800kg including driver the GTR is deemed to have the ideal weight for its performance. Many would argue that it would be better if it was lighter since we usually associate nimble handling with light weight cars such as the Lotus Elise. However with the 1800kg weight the car had the necessary weight to keep it planted on the track and stability at high speed.

kerb weight of car and weight of car at speed due to down force are 2 totally different things. whoever is writing that blog needs to get the facts right.

was going to say that. so what would the weight of the Juke R be after aerodynamic down force?

That was the direct quote from the nissan engineers... Is this source more reputable? http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/kazutoshi-mizuno-nissan-gtr-interview-top-gear-2012-02-23?imageNo=1

Saw this one a while ago whilst it was being developed, it's one mad bad ass vehicle but IMO the only thing that makes it stand out is its brothers DNA, other than that well......

think the words have been twisted by the author. otherwise a ve commodore would be better than it is. its more about just the weight.
