Astra G Heater Knobs? Boring!

Off to the wreckers today looking for inspiration and found just what I was looking for to sort the problem. I'd like to say a special thankyou to the 3 Barinas that donated these to a worthless cause.

It took 2 hours of cutting and shaping (hacking at) both the Astra and Barina knobs and bonding them together, but they work a treat.

Now another 3 hours or so and the other 2 will be done as well.
They'll look great with the Heater trim rings and Piano Black console :)

I showed the guy at the counter my new shiny things and a new air filter I managed to find, and he said "Don't worry about it. You'll buy something more substantial next time huh?"
"You bet."
Thats about as much of a bargin as any.
I also found a CDX Instrument Cluster with the Chrome Rings, but seeing as they're welded to the faceplate I could see no way of carbon skinning it first. I'll grab some decent ones when I do the Carbon

Yea they are all interchangeable

I Resprayed mine white but never had a problem with stuff peeling off it. My console will also be for sale very soon. I bought a genuine oem astra gps/satnav dash from the uk.

I love the simplicity of the aircon unit. My dad's BMW, the temp goes up in increments of .5. So that's 10 presses to go from 25 down to 20, then another 4 to get it to the right fan speed, then 2 to put it on face and footwell. 16 button presses every time you get in the car!! FFS. Astra = twist twist done.

Adam is your dash an immaculate condition standard black? or are you selling that white resprayed one? Interested in the first

Our Maxima sucks for that too. The dual Zone climate control is great with my wife being so odd with her personal comfort, but I have to concentrate on adjustments to the aircon which means constantly taking my eyes off the road. Looks fancy but no thanks by choice over rotary's
