TRAFFIC was banked up for kilometres along the Sunshine Motorway this morning after a car fire near the University of the Sunshine Coast exit.
The motorway heading into Mooloolaba was closed around 9am but has since re-opened.
The small sedan burst into flames.
There were no reports of any injuries.

Do you reckon thats what would of happened? ECU dies, engine overheats, fire?

Probably not, dead ecu would just stop the car one would assume.
I was just having a dig at a common problem ;)

I'd say the fires just at the point of catching the tyres and the front bumper
it would've been an electrical short, or maybe an unseated injector, or a really bad valve cover or sump gasket dumping a load of oil on the exhaust

Probably; the sparks from the (obviously linked) checkerplate floor falling out likely ignited the car.
