Hi to all my new forum buddies!

I picked up my new-to-me '04 Astra convertible last week.
What a cracker of a car! Love it, love it, love it!

Seems I can't post pics yet, but you know what they look like.

I got me an auto, which I'm OK with (for the first time) coz it's such a cruiser. Not intending to do any mods (yeah, sure....). If I want speed, I'll use 2 wheels.

Having said that, I'll be hanging around a bit until I get to know him a bit better, and scoping out the tricks and tweaks. So, in typical forum fashion... What's are the weak spots of this model, and what are the recommended first steps in the cheap and easy upgrade list?

bcnya,

Baz:swg:

Welcome to OA.

Cheers Guy.
Whats an SRI? It's the same year as mine, are they similar?
I'm guessing SRI-T is adding a hairdryer to an SRI. Right?

Welcome to OA mate.

You'll be the Only W.A member with a vert. :D

We'll have to organise a cruise for you to meet everyone. What area of Perth are you located in?

G'day Chris,

Up near Warwick.
What's a vert??
Oh wait, I get it. Took a while!

I know a chick in the inner burbs with one too. Little hottie. (Haven't seen the car) She's probably a bit old for you...
Dunno if she's be up for a cruise, might be a bit blokey for her, but I'll hit her up.

Cheers,

Baz

Used to live up that way in Kingsley, now in maylands.

Theres a few guys up that way which are very mechanically capable and are always willing to help with mods/servicing.

Get her involved! More the merrier.

Welcome to OA mate.

Will be good to have some colour on cruises...

Springs, swaybar and rims are the best place to start mods wise IMO

What you ride when you're on two wheels?

I was thinking springs, but mostly to reduce body roll, so I guess sway bars would be better for that. Hadn't thought of that.
It's got 17's, so maybe I'll just stick with them. The previous (bloody woman) owner gave 'em a bit of kurb rash though.

I got an '85 v-max. It's off the road ATM, but sheeeeeee'll be baaaaack.

Swaybar will help heaps with stability!

Yeah the V-Max is a great looker ay, never seen one on the move tho, how do they ride, more like a cruiser or a sports bike?

Yuck 19's.

v-max is like a 2 wheeled supercharged '68 Mustang. Not really anything like a sports bike or a cruiser. Lol

lol, nineteens are small these days mate...

haha, fairo, I've only ever ridden my mates sport bikes... (250 GPX, '98 R1, '04 ZX-10) and some off roads, but they're not really my scene...

Now THAT makes more sense. Those tyres look like rubber bands!!!

Good job, nicely done.
I'll take the extra inch of sidewall though. He can keep the bumps. *bump* *boing* *thwack* :p
