The key to this is the 'just one car' aspect. This one car needs to do everything you need a car for - as well as the blue sky awesomeness stuff. So for anyone posting 2 door supercar stuff - would you really be able to go shopping in it? What about picking the family up from the airport?

Anyway, for me, money no object - i'd probably go for a Jaguar XJ supersport...

Whatever...Simple answer for me is Porsche 997 GT3RS 4.0

You can go to the shops in it.
It will fit your shopping in it.
You can hang your dry cleaning off the rollcage so it doesn't get crushed.
A 10 year old will love the sound it makes.
Its damn quick both on the road and on the track,
It looks cool.

Very nice car that, and yep - you actually have a fairly decent "boot" space up front with a 911, courtesy of the engine being right out there at the back :)

No, that's called cheating :p. If this was about pure enjoyment, there would be no need to specify:

but you could only have one car

That M6 was still practical - might be a 2 door, but it's 4 seat and has bootspace.

i dont think the intention is practicality.

mmmmmm, Maserati GranCabrio.

As for the kids, they can stay at home. As for my shopping, my servants can do that for me. as for being able to make love in the back seat, who gives a crap, ill do it on the bonnet :p

Also serious dream material, but a Lambo or Ferrari have always been my upmost dream machines and if it was to be one car only, I'd have to settle for one of them :)

A new Bugatti dealership has just opened in HKG and they have a Veryon Cabrio in the window.. :)

Why would they open one up? I can't see any new models being released until god knows when..

Reminds me of a Brand New Showroom on Swan St Richmond that opened about 2 years ago... they sell/sold...... Saab & Hummer! that's it! lol

It's the saddest showroom I've seen, it has currently 3 Saabs in total.. I don't know know what they were thinking!

ChrisMaz
12th September 2011, 04:38 PM
HK at least a few years ago, is the biggest market for high end/supercars in the world. It makes sense.

JohnBu
12th September 2011, 04:39 PM
It would be China today... however the issue is does Bugatti still even sell/make new cars?

ChrisMaz
12th September 2011, 04:45 PM
I'm positive the Veyron, in varying styles is still selling?
Although the new Model (Galiber?) which was due for frankfurt has been pushed back another 6 months because it didn't have enough power, only had 800HP for a 4 door saloon. So could be another reason why its opened, ready for the new model.

Dream achievable-in-this-lifetime daily(s): Amarok/SR5 Hilux Extra cab AND a Caterham Super 7 or Race modded Triumph TR3A. This way I could have a car for shit weather, carrying passengers, safety etc as well as a weekend weapon that would make me feel like the 50's/early 60's F1 driver that I aspire to be haha

+1 - utterly awesome looking car. Not great to drive, but with those looks, who cares?

Here's another way to wander around the edges of the rules:

Car would be a fairly ordinary insignia hatch (why is this variant not coming here?:mad2:)...

... and to that I'd add something like a Triumph Rocket III. Which isn't a car, so isn't covered by "just one car" :p

I thought they'd said that we'd get the saloon and estate (sorry, sedan and wagon) variants, but were keeping mum about which engines, trim specs and performance variants would be arriving?

ChrisMaz
13th September 2011, 04:46 PM
They have yet to deny nor confirm which style of model Australia will be getting across the whole range. Although I can imagine the hatch would be a better bet for Australia as its the cheapest starting point of the two.

(vauxhall now offer irmscher styling from factory as an option! I wonder if Opel will offer this when they make it to Aus.)
