wanna be swaggin in my astra wagon...

sick of cycling the 1hr trip to work so i bought my first car a few months ago

Astra wagon CD AH MY08,

the car is physically in good shape bar a dint/scratch on a side rear panel.

as far as improving modding the car, this is what i have planned initially

-replacing the hubcaps with some alloys
-repairing the dint/scratch
-recolouring the side bumper strips. colour coded silver. they seem to be stuck on with double sided tape...possible to get them off without damage?

really open to any suggestions on what could improve the look of the car, or even some modded wagon examples

Do what I did, remove those side mouldings, do not bother to color code. They are on by tape, just use some hot water to heat up and peel them off.

ouch that is nasty scrape!

umm for options id get some 18" replica VXR wheels (can get for around $800-1000aud landed) get some dark tint on those windows! lower it and change the headlights over to either angel eyes or DRL ones (or just stock ones that are black) and get yourself an irmy front grille :)

maybe even the VXR/opc Bodykit :D

yeh get scratches done first... just keep an eye on for sale section sometimes people sell their old wheels off or stock ones... or search ebay "5x110" few options there

on an H i wouldnt go below 18" to be honest... ud be suprised how quickly "big" wheels look small on the H's

If you're looking at $600 or less for wheels the SRiT ones should be an option for you, they are 18's, but don't expect any rubber on them at that price. You'll be looking at ~$850 for decent rubber shipped and fitted on top for something like 235/40/18 Toyo Proxes4. (yes I know they are 235 instead of 225, but the difference isn't much at all, and I'm running that size without scrubbing).

If you're interested in SRiT wheels, drop me a PM, but I'll be refurbing mine first, so I may have to ask higher than you want to spend, but I know someone else is parting with a set also.

Get rid of that scratch and it's a very tidy ride! Welcome to OA mate!

Do not think so, the wagon had longer wheel base that hatch, so the side skirt should be longer.

Nah, that's easy enough. However, if you choose, pick a style of wheels you'd like to see, mesh, dished, 5 spokes, Sri-t, vxr's etc :thumbs:

I've done what you've asked for, plus the addition of some VXR brakes (freebie with the wheels :P) yours will be considerably smaller, although can be painted the same colour.

No problems mate.
Only other thing i could think of immediately that would make a big impact would be a set of skirts. I went with the front irmscher skirt and the rest of just the HBD/HSVi kit. Just simple skirts work well to improve looks :thumbs:

Only if you're lucky, but they will need to be painted to your colour, they're just primed generally
