If it is properly balanced with a decent engine it could be a good thing..

Would be nice to see them back in WRC too...

I like the idea but not the concept pic, it's way too fudged up...

There's no doubt that if it eventuates it'll be an impressive vehicle ie. dynamically and performance wise as pretty much all WRX's are, if they can then also get it to look decent, then it'll be a winner...

Yeah - I'm thinking WRX underneath, but looking more like subaru's take on the FT-86 on top? That could end up being something rather special...

I don't mind the profile of the car. Very renault, GTC and SEAT esc.
Too much going on at the front of the car, and those door handles look shit.
Kind of like the spotties on either side of the bonnet scoop though.

I kinda like it but are that lights in the bonnet airscoop ??? Would be nice though if it had a rear mounted engine visibible through the rear window :smile5: , but I think as John said, will probably never produced or the end result will look much different as in this drawing.

you would have to think that it would be based on the original impreza concept

I prefer yours as well ;)

Reckon the pic on the first page looks like one of them cartoon car signature things with the big wheels... :p

Maybe it will be a grower? Have to wait and see I suppose!!!

To quote Clarkson on an older Rexy, "it [still] looks like a bruised buttock".

Subaru seriously need to consider hiring some car designers with experience in... designing cars. They're making some of the ugliest cars on the road these days.

Mmmmm, agree with one your choices the RS250 Megane is still 'the man' in this segment IMO :)

Read the article on this car in the latest Motor Mag last night and it sounds even more promising !!!

Besides whats already been written, they say that the proposed smaller displacement 1.6ltr boxer engine may employ 'twin charging' and up to 200kw in the Sti variant...

With reduced size and weight (stated as being similar to the upcoming Polo R in size ? and weight of around only 1,200kg) it should perform extremely well :)

We'll have to wait and see, it's not expected to arrive until 2014...

That's the BRZ rwd (same as the ft-86), whereas the WRX will remain AWD though

That's right, just thought it would be an interesting comparo since this now official BRZ coupe is very similar to the speculated/proposed WRX coupe :)

Except for AWD and unless the body is very different, (alot smaller ?) will Sube bother to produce the WRX coupe ??

Will also be interesting to see the final configurations, features and and price point differences between the Sube BRZ and Toyota FT-86...

I'd say we won't get the BRZ here, the head of suby aus said he wanted all the cars in the aus fleet to be AWD as they have 'all 4 the driver' as their selling point

Interesting...

Considering the BRZ is a reality and that it'll be available from Q1 or Q2 next year and that it's in the same class as its sister FT-86 and others such as the Nissan 370Z and a similar new model of Hyundai here in Aust. surely Sube would miss out on sales if they take that approach ??
