This is a very cool app. Great for when you can't find the remote or cbf getting up and getting it. Download WeBe++ from Cydia (don't download WeBe from the AppStore, it's a different thing).

You can use the onscreen PS3 controls, keyboard or touch pad to control your PS3. It connects with bluetooth and is set up like a normal controller.

Just make sure your bluetooth is on. It works for me so I know it's not fake :)

Both just keep scanning, never find each other

Strangely enough my iPhone finds the ps3 but doesn't have a name for it so it looks blank. If you press on the white space where the name would be it still connects. Give it a go.

from memory I turned the iphone Bluetooth on, then exited out of the settings, leaving it on discoverable

Then jumped on the PS3 and added new Bluetooth device (or whatever its called)

It spits up some numbers to punch I to the iphone, and then its done

My Bluetooth is already on and discoverable as I have it connected to my car kit, but have tried turning it on and off. When I try to register a new device the ps3 just keeps sitting on scanning and the iPhone sits there trying to find any new devices but nothing adds to the list (I have my car kit and tomtom gps mount already in the list)
Amy's phone does the same, mind you we can't find each other's phones via Bluetooth either. I read something about wifi interfering maybe? Or maybe my ps3 (60gb original) doesn't work with it?

Try turning your bluetooth off on your iPhone.
I just found some info from here: http://weblooks.ch/extern_/cydia/webe-plus/

WeBe++ is based on BTstack (http://btstack.googlecode.com/), an open-source Bluetooth stack. BTstack cannot run in parallel to Apple's Bluetooth. Therefore, WeBe++ has to turn off Apple's Bluetooth. You can re-enable Apple's only after quitting the WeBe++ app. Instead you can use the WeBe Server (http://www.weblooks.ch/en/webe/) to use it via WiFi (or Apple's Bluetooth => needs Tethering).
