A new model just came out...

Do a search for "new astra" on this site and you will find people's thoughts on the differences between the old and the new... which are currently selling side by side.

Welcome aboard.

Well why don't you just check the holden site for starters then?

A quick guide before you step onto a car yard:
A Astra Equipe is the stock,
then its the city,
followed by the CD,
then if youve got a fat wallet.... 8)
its the CDX, CDXi
and if youve got the need for speed...
Astra turbo and the Astra SRi.

(fellow members correct me if im wrong)

good luck finding your new car mate

price range would start from $17000 for a classic/city to $45000 for Astra Convertible... the other models would be in between...

get the older style CDx

i have no idea why I haven't encountered any owners of this car on opelaus, but I think they're fantastic cars, and I would consider buying one over an SRi

they have climate control, abs, power windows, leather, woodgrain.... better than some base model bmw's. Furthermore, they have the desireable black tinted lights front and back, and fog lights. The wheel's aren't that bad either.

26,000 will get you a 2003 example with not many k's on the clock! 8)

for that price you'll get alot more boogie in a Barina SRi. They actually beat Astra SRi's off the line STOCK.
Proven fact, many times.

I have no idea where Mackay is

Queensland, i'll most likely end up that way in a 3 years when my contract runs out with where i'm working now.
